Gave up the interview at the communication technology company but went for the one at the bank today.. another of those interview that I can't really tell what they r looking for.. and they said that they've just started the selection process so the result won't be out so fast... hmm... shall wait and see....

Yesterday Bro Jo sms-ed to ask me to attend his chinese church leaders' meeting tonite.. so I went today with Eileen and Guofu.. It was great!! Not quite sure in what way I can serve in chinese church yet but will give it a go... think it'll be challenging & exciting!!

Weird things do happen.. yesterday a company called me up to invite me for interview, today there's another of such invitation.. this time is a pretty reputable foreign bank looking for research analyst..

After hearing abt how my Dy Dir publicly declare that he'll resign by the end of the yr and that the company is not hiring even when we are darn short-handed at the moment, I'm really tempted to give it a try.. Seriously speaking, I do have pretty good exposure in my current job... juz feel that the scope if far too wide to really specialize.. not very good for my future...

Well I guess I should give myself a chance by at least going for the interview... that's doesn't hurt.. does it??

Oh btw I gave a presentation to a team from the University of Oslo this afternoon... I was like darn nervous.. but I guess my performance was OK lah.. Anyway initially it's ET's presentation and I was somehow kena arrowed to do it instead.. and at 1st I tot the team is a group of students.. and later to my horror it's actually the faculty of the business school.. so u can imagine this girl who is out of uni for less than 3 mths trying to smoke a gp of academics.. terrible terrible.. and the Q&A session was simply jialat.. u know all academics ask alot of questions.. Sighz..

Dilemma dilemma...

Juz when I begin to feel that I can't see a bright future for myself in my company(after the 4th person left my dept this year), a company actually called to ask me for an interview.. apparently they got my contact from ntu.. it's in the infocomm sector and is apparently doing pretty ok.. been quite aggressive in acquiring other companies.. they are hiring a business development executive.. will be doing planning for key business ventures like JV, M&A and investment.. sounds like a good place to gain experience to get myself more specialized b4 heading teach in poly.. moreover they said that they can at least match my current pay...

But then I feel a little guilty if I leave my current job in only 2 mths.. but then again there's no harm to juz go and take a look yah? afterall I should take care of my own future..

Oh man.. had a 3 hours long evaluation meeting today.. evaluated 3 companies in all and the last one was really jialat!! My boss ended up arguing with that guy!! And both of them are really hot tempered old men.. stubborn...
 
Anyway got the news that CC has handed in her resignation.. feeling abit sad... and WL's going to leave at the end of the year to Europe... not that I know them for very long.. but somehow I feel quite sad.. And I start to wonder how long will I stay in the company..
 
Still no sign of SK online.. where's he??? Why's he alwayz not there when I need someone to talk to??

Well my wkend didn't really start on a good note.. bump into J at City Hall MRT when I knock off.. could have juz pass him by.. but stupid me actually went up and say hi.. and he had to make negative comments abt me looking older and all.. rubbish.. he's the one who refuses to grow up..
 
Things were better when I met up with Jac and Ivy for Budak Pandai's concert at YMCA.. they are still as good as ever... juz that they seems a little tensed.. probably coz they were trying to make it a live recording for their Christmas album.. anyway 3 of us still had a good time screaming and clapping away..
 
Sat was a fully packed day... worked in the morning.. rushed down to church for BS.. then choir prac.. then service.. then rushed down to Siglap for coffee with the 99S43 ppl.. erm to be exact it's actually the 99S43 girls.. lotsa catching up to do.. and of course seeing Louise's Europe trip photos and NTU convo photos.. dunno when will I see them again.. abit difficult when term starts for the NUS ppl and the graduated ones start working.. HY's applying for a job at EDB.. hope she'll get it.. then I can have one more lunch kaki.. hee..
 
Today is totally devoted to slacking.. yet I'm still feeling very tired.. sigh...
 
Was looking at LW's aussie photo online.. I ALSO WANNA GO FOR HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!! pray hard i'll save up enough to go Sydney to visit SK end of the yr.. talking abt SK.. I haven't seen him online for a week at least.. know that he's busy shifting house.. but can't take the whole week right?? Hmmm...

Today is a sad sad day...

Some of our start-up companies are liquidating.. very sad to see them spend so much money, time and effort to build their business but in the end failing badly and gotta start all over again... sigh...

So that's my job.. everyday meeting entrepreneur-wannabes who ahave so much hope in their future.. and also entrepreneurs who've work so hard only to lose everything...

I've finally graduated!!!

Had my convocation ceremony today.. reached campus at 8.30am.. haven't wake up this early in a long long time..

By the time Shu and WY arrive the robing room was totally packed.. had to robe outside the room... totally unglam... but heck ah... it's a stressful thing to put on the convo gown coz no matter how u try it juz won't look good on u.. by the time I'm done with robing I already started to feel tired.. Managed to take a few photo b4 we went into the auditorium...

Was allocated a seat away from ppl I know.. though Shu was juz 4 ppl ahead of me in the queue she was seated last in the row in front of me.. too far away to talk.. so I was pretty bored thruout the ceremony.. and was busy praying that my mortar board won't drop while I'm on stage.. 2 ppl actually dropped their mortar board on stage.. so malu!!

Was quite surprised that there were quite a number of book prizes for this yr.. and sad that I didn't make it for any.. to add on to that they do not announce the class of honours of the graduates.. so cannot hao4 lian4 abt my 1st class honours... sigh...

After the ceremony was a round of photo-taking with my parents and Shu's gang.. am thankful that LW and Louise actually took the trouble to come down... Then had lunch at Canteen A.. many thing changed.. the former Jap food stall is gone and is replaced by a not very nice one.. and there's a Mac in Canteen A!!

After lunch was another round of photo-taking with Louise and Ben.. went to Yunnan Garden.. had lotsa fun taking candid shots..

Later Jiayi came and we went to take more photo with Haibin.. met Haibin's parents too.. was so tired after that but still wanna go church for seminar! Anyway it was a good session with Pastor Kong..

Better go sleep now... gotta work tmr..

Went to do my hair today... not bad for a $45 deal.. cut + colour + treatment.. all ready for convo next Wed...

Or maybe not that ready.. coz I havent figure out how to wear my convo gown!!! whenever I put on my gown it keeps slipping back.. and the hood (which is orange with baby blue strips XP) is always out of place... arghz... going to fix everything in place with safety pins...

Why is weekend always so short??? Back to work again tmr.. brought a file home to do a memo actually.. but it's still lying in my bag... oops...

Wah liaoz I can't believe what I did today!!! Went ard looking for peach, dates and chilli sauce!!

My division got this program call HOTSpots (which stands for Hub of Technopreneurs).. under HOTSpots there are 3 main events: HOTPitch (something like elevator pitch where start-ups can "pitch" to investors), HOTDate (like speed dating between buyers and sellers) and HOTSource (where companies and govt agencies present their roadmap and outsource to meet their procurment needs)...

Tmr is the 2nd anniversary of HOTSpots... then becoz my boss was telling my Managing Director how the names of the 3 events are all related to food (HOTPitch = Hot peach, HOTDate = Hot date, HOTSource = hot sauce), MD actually wanted us to put those 3 things into the goodie bags for tmr... and that was like 3 plus this afternoon...

Then after that ran all over like mad woman trying to get those stuff... Oh man..... Madness!!!!

More madness for tmr... at the 2nd anniversary event we'll have the launch of HOTSource... for the launch mechanism we'll make our MD and the partners (all big shots from property developers including CapitaLand) to use Super Soakers to aim at some fountain and and then the water from the mountain will come on... Heard that the Channel News Asia crew is coming.. so maybe u'll see it on TV!!!!

*Yawn* Damn tired..... Shall pen off now...

Had my division's Mid-year Review this afternoon... sat thru presentation after presentation from the various depts in my division... SUPER BORING!!! Could have spent the time on more productive things like writing memos and chasing after some Aussie idiot who ask us for funding yet refuses to cooperate with me..

And there's this recent phenonmenon in my dept.. it's FLOODED by interns... now we have like 5 interns (though Leonard will be leaving in 2 weeks' time).. we had 3 already... 2 juz came in today... the youngest of them being 19 yr old.. it's like EDB is into child labour huh?! =P

Convo is coming soon.. next week in fact.. the surprising thing is that I'm not exactly very excited abt it.. I mean I do look forward to seeing everyone again.. but I juz feel abit lazy.. to go back to NTU early in the morning.. with all the barang barang.. the very ugly convo gown... and having to fight the crowd to take photo.. there are alot of other things I'd rather do with my precious leave.. like spending some quality time with my family and friends..

Hope I'll get more excited over convo in the next 1 week....

The past 2 days had been extremely stressful cum tiring.. was helping my colleague with a paper for submission to the big bosses for discussion this coming monday.. then my boss last min wanna change this change that.. end up in office til 9 plus on thurs and only managed to eat lunch like 4pm yesterday.. but thank God that it's OVER!!

Today turned out to be the ultimate slack day.. reached office at 9.10am.. then my went for breakfast with my colleagues til almost 10am.. went back to do a report.. my boss turn up at office at 10 plus.. (heng ah..) then at 11 plus she said she was hungry and asked me out to makan.. end up with another hour out of office talking crapz with her and not getting any work done.. slack slack slack.. and knocked off promptly at 1pm to meet LW.. =P

Had a pretty great time catching up with LW though.. felt abit paiseh that i kept complaining abt work... think she's like darn bored by my complaints... aiyah but then that's what frenz r for right??

Juz read LW's blog.. she wrote something abt being sad over reading some old autograph and realize that some of those ppl are no longer her frenz... his name was mentioned.. am shocked that the mention of his name still causes quite abit of emotional disturbance.. sighz...
